Top quality materials and beautiful craftsmanship

This enterprise started in the UK in 1982, moved to Australia in 1994, and now I am assisted by an apprentice turner, Jory Freyee. We work together on the many processes involved in making top-quality hand tools for fibre arts. We cut the wood from blocks or billets and dry and season it in our own climate controlled storage unit to ensure optimum stability. We aim to avoid using materials from threatened species and try to select material that's been sustainably logged. We also source local woods sustainably, often taking 2-3 years to prepare a batch of materials. I research existing traditional tools for fibre work and create some new designs to improve function and aesthetics. Customer satisfaction is vital to us.
